Individual Therapy
"Sometimes it takes more courage to ask for help than to act alone."
-Ken Petti
You deserve a therapist that makes you feel safe. You deserve someone compassionate to guide you through the healing process.
As a therapist, I strive to support and promote lifelong change that will allow you to cultivate healthy relationships and an overall sense of fulfillment. The individual therapy process combines evidence-based methods (proven to be effective), throughout which I will support, guide, and gently challenge you.
What can I expect?
While talking with your friends and family members can be helpful, it’s sometimes necessary to seek the help of a supportive and unbiased person who is trained in mental health and behavioral change.
Therapy can be an effective tool for overcoming the mental and emotional struggles that arise in your life, such as feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed. In the first few sessions, I will get to know you and learn about your goals for therapy. Together we'll determine what works best for you in the therapeutic process and relationship. We will also work to identify the root of any challenges and obstacles holding you back, and I will offer tools for coping with uncomfortable emotions and changing maladaptive habits.
The pace and speed of your individual therapy sessions and goals are based on your own preferences. Based on your individual needs and preferences, therapy may include behavioral therapy, skills-based techniques, creative arts techniques, exploration of family-of-origin patterns, mindfulness, and empathic support.
