Areas of Focus

Healing from Narcissistic Abuse

Caring about someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (or similar traits), can be exhausting, invalidating, and de-stabilizing. The gaslighting, manipulation, and criticism can be so disorienting that it's hard to trust your own reality, judgment,  and intuition. I can help you identify unhealthy relationship patterns and trauma responses, rebuild self-esteem and boundaries, and support you in reconnecting and trusting your own thoughts, emotions, and identity.

Betrayal Trauma

Being betrayed by the person you trusted most can feel like the entire world just got turned upside down. Do you feel emotionally unsafe, hyper-vigilant, anxious, and deeply destabilized? Are you struggling with intrusive thoughts, obsessive truth-seeking, loss of self-esteem, or a constant sense of uncertainty and feeling unsafe in relationships? I can offer a supportive environment to process the trauma, rebuild emotional stability, develop healthy boundaries, and help you regain trust in your own perceptions and judgment.

Finding Purpose

Do you ever reflect on your life and wonder "How did I get here?" It's easy to get sucked into the "shoulds" that have been ingrained in us since childhood. Do you wonder what else is out there? Do you feel like something is missing from your life? By exploring our values and joys, as well as our fears and unhelpful thinking patterns, we can move toward a life of deeper meaning and fulfillment.

Life Transitions & Changes

Sometimes life throws a lot at us all at once. It can be overwhelming and simply too much to process and manage on our own. When we have experience big transitions or changes, like going through a divorce, becoming a new parent, or graduating college, it can be difficult to adjust to this new version of life. It can cause uncertainty, self-doubt, anxiety, and so many other complex feelings. I can support you through the transition and help you develop a sense of stability and agency in this new stage of your life.

Anxiety

Anxiety is your brain's attempt to protect you from pain and discomfort. Paradoxically, you may feel powerless and consumed by your anxiety and rumination. Anxiety has been your brain's safety net, so it can feel extremely uncomfortable and scary to challenge the anxious thoughts or choose not to give into them. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy tools, I can help you identify the ways these thought patterns no longer serve you,. Together we can work on implementing new coping skills and developing healthier thought patterns.

Grief & Loss

Whether expected or unexpected, loss of a loved one is one of life's most difficult experiences. While the rest of the world moves forward, you are just trying to get through each day. Grief and loss can affect every part of a person’s emotional and physical well-being, often bringing waves of sadness, anger, numbness, guilt, confusion, loneliness, or difficulty adjusting to life after a significant change or loss.  I can provide a safe and support you in processing the emotions, understanding the impact of the loss, developing healthy coping strategies, and work through the pain without becoming consumed by it.
